OK OK Been A month Trying to make a living

Well lets see a month has gone by and just making parts non profitable. The real rub is my profitable parts the customer won"t pay. They just say "we don't got it" well needless to say the parts here are not being delivered. kinda screwed up deal. Any way Be back tomorrow for another fun day in the over 100 heat.

Hard to get it up

Came in Sat. didn't do much ran dumb parts. Can't afford over time for any one so I work putting them in and out. I should have programmed the next job but I do admit I watched Bush nascar I refer to tit as roundy roundy. It is kinda cool I enjoy the technology involved. If any reads this please chime in. Weather you are a globalists or a home boy out of a job because of out sourcing. Hopefly you are cutting butt making stuff here in the USA.

Sunday fixed Daughter's car relaxed a bit . Had a nice time at my parents swimming in there pool. and BBQ ing.

I had a call today from a customer that I get second hand work from ( you guys in the machine business know what I am saying they get the profit) There is work but SO CHEEP I can't turn my lights on for what they want. I may get a job I screwed up on quoting some times they even work out. I was normal prices they need there cut for doing nothing. JUST TELL ME WHAT YOU NEED. I don't think they know (just quoting) If they get it, thy have a free quoteing service.

Been doing this way to long is what I think the trouble is.

First Post Friday the 13 th

Well went to the Dr. today and all is well. The shop isn't. China kicked our ass! Almost 30 years making things from space shuttle parts to love dolls we have to pull the pin. Not for another 6 months but when you see the end it is closer than ever.

What I want to do here is to document the closing of a 30 year old family owned small machine shop. With an enfasis on where is all the stuff being made ( as if we didn't know). Maybe a forum to, bitch, complain, compare stories on how did we let manufacturing slip through our fingers.

I work 100 hour weeks for decades But what I have found is the "machining" is gone a much larger factory, off shore has the same machines if not better (government supported), Same computers, sane cutting tool technology.

The rub I see is the odious a journeyman machinist just got a color TV and rides a bike to work. This is not bad but I can tell a smart high school kid to get into the biz . ( ya think so )

I assume manufacturing people may be reading this dribble and are ahead of the fray. Look over your shoulder. I talk to customer support where they are at? I assume it is India.

I thought it was cool a few years ago that the white collar people where up in arms that support went off shore but that was a last gasp for the people that have phone stuck to there heads.
